Plantar Warts is basically a skin disease typical to youth, but it may occur to the people at any age. Most plantar warts aren't a serious health concern, but they may be bothersome or painful, and they can be resistant to treatment.

Plantar Warts are a kind of common and genearl skin disease which is caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). They are small lesions that appear on the sole of the foot (hence the name, from Latin planta pedis, the sole of the foot) and are typically "cauliflower-esque" in appearance. They may have small black specks within them that ooze blood when the surface is shaved; these are abnormal capillaries. Plantar warts are benign (noncancerous) growths that occur on the sole (plantar surface), heel, or ball of the foot.

Causes of Plantar Warts

Plantar warts is caused when the virus human papillomavirus(HPV)invades into the skin through a break. This virus grows in warm, moist environments, such as those created in a locker room or in your shoes when your feet perspire and the moisture is trapped.other causes are like weak immune system and repeated HPV exposure.

Treatment of Plantar Warts

Methods For Treating Plantar Warts are :

  • Salicylic acid.
  • Duct tape. "duct tape therapy" It's often combined with salicylic acid.
  • Freezing (cryotherapy). Freezing is one of the most common treatments for plantar warts and is usually effective,
  • Cantharidin
  • good foot hygiene, including regular use of a pumice stone
  • apply mild acid (e.g., salicylic acid, cantharidin, dichloroacetic acid) topically to treat plantar warts.
