Sun Damage Information

Sun Damage is basically a skin disease typical to youth, but it may occur to the people at any age. A tan is the body's desperate attempt to protect itself from the sun's harmful rays. Sunshine, although essential for health and wellbeing, is certainly a hazard for the skin. For many people it feels good to spend time outdoors and this makes it difficult to avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

The sun's rays, which are called ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B rays (UVA and UVB rays) damage your skin. This leads to early wrinkles, skin cancer and other skin problems. Fine and coarse wrinkles are seen on sun-damaged skin. There is a roughness to the skin and a laxity or looseness in advanced damage. Patchy or mottled darker patches of increased pigmentation are seen . Being in the sun often over time, even if you don't burn, can lead to skin cancer.
